We have over ten years experience and Clare is a published author herself. We have MA's in Creative Writing and Commercial Copywriting. We have written for many publications ourselves and have helped many authors on the road to success. Our standard of work is second to none and we are members of the professional body; Society For Editors & Proofreaders, and work within all their set guidelines.

We are passionate about what we do and will work with the author personally to guarantee the highest standards for their work. All our guidance and processes will ensure that our authors are consulted and included in every part of their writing journey. We provide the author with a detailed timeline which outlines all the stages, including dates and time frames, which allows the corrections and final approval edits.The

We believe that every book should be professionally produced to allow the author the best possible chance of their book becoming successful. We know that a book that has mistakes or that does not flow properly will not be accepted by literary agents, as they are inundated with manuscripts and will only accept the best. Readers expect the same level of quality from a book even if the author is self-publishing, which is why all our books are produced to the same level as a book that has been traditionally published.

Book Talk Radio Club offers live on air author interviews that are marketed and promoted to over 300,000 readers worldwide on social media, and also syndicated to iTunes, Spotify, Amazon Alexa and iHeart Radio.

WHO WE ARE...

Book Talk Radio Club was founded by Claire Harris Perkins - an author of self-help and inspirational books with over twenty-eight years of marketing and promotional experience behind her.

HOW WE WORK...

Authors are sent the interview questions two days beforehand to allay nerves. The interviews are audio only and the author can choose from either a live on air interview or a pre-recorded interview that will be uploaded the same or next day. Authors can purchase a three, six or twelve month Book Talk Radio Club membership....

We also provide graphic design services to authors where our excellent team create bespoke book covers, and where we design the layout for the book formatting process. Our formatting processes also include conversion of manuscripts into paperback and e-book files, and then we upload them to publishing platforms such as KDP. (Amazon). Social media advertising and promotional graphics for sales campaigns are one of our specialist areas.

What we do...

I edit and proofread fiction and non-fiction books, novels, memoirs and autobiographies for authors. But I’m more than just a spelling specialist or punctuation pedant – yes, I’ve been called a grammar geek. But if that was all I checked, you would only be getting half the job done. I also look for plot holes, help to flesh out your characters, suggest where your timeline or your location settings need more detail. I will fix long rambling sentences, unintentional ambiguities. I turn your fledgling draft novel into something ready to flee the nest and move to the publishing stage!

WHO WE ARE...

I’m Janice. As a child, I used to take a dictionary to read in bed and at 9 years old, found I had an aptitude for foreign languages as well as English! I have a language teaching degree but after a few years in Education, I decided I preferred the writing profession and took a leap into freelance editing. Richard Branson's quote: “Find a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life” rang so true with me, and I’ve never looked back! I am a member of the professional body; The Society for Editors & Proofreaders.

HOW WE WORK...

If you like the sound of what you read here, our first contact might be via email or telephone enquiry. After finding out a little about your project, I will ask for a sample of your manuscript via email of up to 5000 words so that I can ascertain my reading speed and be able to offer you a sensible fee and timeline.

If we decide we can work together, I like to ask for an initial 50% deposit before commencing any editing. The balance will become due once the whole manuscript has been edited and returned to you, ready for the next stages of publishing. 

Over the following weeks, I will keep you regularly updated and raise any queries that might need to be addressed.

WHAT WE BELIEVE...

This is so important! Every writer needs to trust their editor with their draft. It’s as precious to you as a new-born baby. It may have taken many months or even years to get to this stage, so I believe in treating your manuscript with care and respect. The editing process needs to retain your unique voice, only intervening where I believe I can smooth the grammar or improve the reading experience for your prospective audience.

Most of all, I want to give you peace of mind. You will know that every sentence, every word, every letter, has been scrutinised and checked, what goes down in indelible ink is exactly what you intended to say. You will create something to be proud of.

ConnectPA offers a range of administration services, however, more recently we have niched to transcription, proofreading and content creation. We also offer advice and support around using LinkedIn to increase client visibility.

ConnectPA was set up by Sharon McLean who has almost 30 years experience in the admin/PA sector, of which the last 18 years was in Education.

For us, it is all about making a connection. Success is not measured in monetary terms, it is when clients say: “I feel like you really get me!”  They become our friends and know they can approach us with any issue they are struggling with however basic it  may be.
